I sure enjoyed railing the **** out of mine till I broke the factory cross pin
I just did the 44/9 swap into mine stretched my wheel base to 105.5 havent tested it off road but with the unlocking hubs it already rides smoother. compareing the 44 to my 30 im glad to have upgraded and compareing the 9" to my 29 spline 8.25 im very sure it will last longer.

Swapping up to a d44 is really starting to sound like more of a pain in the *** than I had originally anticipated.

If you can't weld good having someone else do it for you gets pricey. You can get a bolt in dana 44 front aftermarket but its around 3 grand for everything ready to drive.

You might have just put a hole in my pocket. I didn't know I could just up and buy one...

Yeah, but you've got to watch out, a lot of the "off the self" one's are just rubicon 44 housings, low pinion, smaller tubes, and knuckles. Not nearly as good as a high pinion from a ford

plenty of people toss 44s under the front of their XJ and leave the 40 year old ball joints, calipers, bearings, etc.

those people are dumb.
