Default D44 front/ C8.25 rear, anyone run this???

I searched but came up with nothing... So right now I'm running D30 front/ Chrysler 8.25 rear. Both open. I have a plan to replace the front D30 with a D44 from G2 that is already built(chromoly axle shafts, lower gearing, arb locker) and build up the rear Chrysler 8.25(truss, stronger 29spline shafts, arb locker). Is anyone running a similiar set up? D44 front/C8.25 rear?

I just picked up a spare Chrysler 8.25 today to build up so that I dont have my xj sitting on jack stands while I build this axle up...

I originally was planning on building up the D30 up front (truss, sleeve it, chromoly axle shafts, arb locker, re-gear it, "C" gussets) but after all that I would be close to the price of a built D44 from G2.

I suppose I'm just looking for opinions from people who know their $hit. The plan for this xj isn't a hardcore rock crawler. Just a weekend wheeler to take my wife and young daughter on trails through the woods.

if your not doing hard core wheeling and just want to cruise thru mild trails the 30 with stock shafts and a locker would be fine for you. its not uncommon to see people around here running a dana 30 on 35s (i was one of them running stock shafts on 35 inch tires wheeling at the hammers).

the 30 would be fine even without doing all the stuff you were talking about.

imo for you the 44 would be a waste of money as the 30 will be fine.
if your set on the 44 then pull one out of a wagoneer and have brackets welded on it and gears put in and install it. still cheaper than chromo shafts and all that other stuff for a d30
