Default d30 spartan locker popping noise

so i just installed a spartan locker in my front d30 and its making a way loud popping noise. not like the ratcheting sound that should be heard.
when i turn left at about 1/3 and 2/3 of turning all the way it pops really loud and the left tire grabs and jerks. it does the same thing in reverse when turning right.
the noise doesnt sound normal from what i've read in threads and heard in other lockers. could i have installed it wrong or missed something? i have tried contacting customer service but i cant find any contact information whatsoever anywhere online. please help! i dont want to break something!

how would i have spaced something wrong? i put all the stuff back in on the right sides it said to and did everything the installation book said, could it be a manufacturer error?

It could be but if you dont have enough gap between the drivers i can see it always popping instead of ratcheting

Do both wheels pull in 4wd? I ask cause my passenger tire just jerks and it makes a popping sound. Mine isn't street driven and has 10 rides on it. I had heard great things about Spartans and mine worked great the first 5 or 6 rides but now only one side works.

I'm not sure, just based on how they work, how only one side can "work" unless teeth were sheared off one side.

Teeth on mine are fine but springs are shot. Ordered a set tonight, 19 bucks shipped. Here's hoping it fixes it otherwise it's getting a mini spool.

I have a question about this locker. I lifted the front wheels off the ground, with the jeep in 2wd. When I spin one tire, the other one turns some times but not always. Is this a sign that the locker is installed wrong? I checked out another rig with this locker up front and when you spin one tire the other one does not turn, I also didn't here any clicking noise. However in 4wd they both engage. Any ideas?

If the locker is pretty old, the springs might be worn out.

when in 4wd everything works fine and how its supposed to, the locker is doing its job perfectly, but in 2wd when i turn left it jerks and makes a popping noise. but tonight i just broke an axle shaft (because my locker was working flawlesly) so i will be getting new ones and tearing my whole front end up to fix it. i'm hoping with the new shafts, some new axle seals, taking my locker out of the diff and the carrier and putting it all back together will fix it. i will keep you posted on whats up. anyone know of some good chomoly axle shafts for fairly cheap online?

it was my left outer axle shaft thing, thats connected to the hub. i just got thinking that maybe that was the problem all along? that maybe it was going out anyways or my ujoint was bad? anyways, new stuff will hopefully fix it.
