Cut N Fold Or ivet and cut, need advice.
Well I trimmed my front, and as we all know the rear has good old pinch welds. Now I'm planning the lower quarter cut and fold at one point mostly because i need to put in new leafs at one point, which will just make it easier to get at. But to the point...
I was skimming threw some threads on Naxja (I belive) and came across a fellow jeeper that had instead of the Cut N' Fold method, had just pop riveted above the welds and cut it off like the front. I was wondering if I should rivet above the pinch welds and just trim after, or trim the rear and then rivet it? If that makes a difference. And should i do the lower quarter cut first to insure its more stable in the long run?? After that's sorted out i plan on bed lining it and possibly putting vinyl ''trim'' along the rough edges....
Thanks for your input guys.

I have riveted and cut 2 XJ's. My old '88(RIP) ran for 6 years with rivets and no problems. My current '99 XJ was fine untill I broke a leaf spring and the tire tore the left fender up. I have welded that side up and installed 2" bumpstop extentions to stop any more fender damage.

Thanks... My leafs are getting crusty... The small clamps are shot on both sides, all shake loose, and some negative arch. Im planning to buy oem leafs and bastard pack them seeings as mine have no arch right now, i cant imagine packing my factory ones at 14 years old would work out well.
