That way you can keep the rest of your setup at decent angles, and get more clearance.
Thats what I was thinking, going with the currie set up and using the tapered insert from goferit only on the drivers side making that otk but the passenger side still utk

OTK requires at the very least removal of the stock sway bar mounts, so you would need modify/raise stockers or use aftermarket. Unless you have REALLY good shocks up front ,definitely recommended to run sway bar on the road.

The currie setup is pretty stout, only downfall I see is that the pass side TRE is not replaceable just like the stocker. But hear it holds up well. Not sure what the warranty on it is tho.

so if i were to just use a tapered insert from goferit on the drivers side only with the currie set up, would i still need to relocate my sway bar mounts?

The only problem with the currie is that its the stupid inverted y setup. So any time you change your lift height, you have to get an alignment.

You should get an alignment every time you change suspension components anyways.

You have to buy the passenger side tre from serious but it's only like 6 inches long instead of 3 ft.

You dont have to get one if you have a setup like the jks. Because when you lift it, it doesent change the tow.

no but it may change your caster. I at least check with a tape measure when i do suspension work or get a couple good hits off road.

for OTK http://www.go.jeep-xj.info/HowtoOTKSteeringLinks.htm this is a great write up and goes over everything. OTK will give you tighter steering if done right. The rustys setup puts a lot of stress on one point...... to me thats trouble waiting to happen with me.

but one thing you need to ask before you do a OTK. will the TRE clear the rim? I run TJ Canyons and they will not clear the rim. 15in steel rims clear very close. Lots of options.

and another this is you can run the ZJ setup in OTK and be just fine if you dont abuse it in the rocks all the time.

I give another vote to Serious Offroad. As soon as my Jeep is road worthy again, Ill be picking it up. I have his LongArmz and Bumper so maybe I am biased but Frank builds great quality stuff. Your also supporting a good vendor and not some big name like Currie. For your money, Serious is a top contender hands down.

That looks sweet! what trackbar are you using? Are you using a trackbar drop bracket? And do you have a drop pitman arm?

Way better than my worn out stock stuff. More responsive and without the steering stabilizer i don't notice any bumps or anything.
