I'm not sure if this is where this belongs. I am having an issue where the seat has two broken welds on the front, but not the bracket itself. The back has another broken piece, the crossbar, that's caused the bracket to become warped and bent, and caused a broken bracket weld. I'm thinking aftermarket seats is the way to go. Any advice on what will work for me?
Honestly go to a race shop or 4x4 shop and sit in every seat they have,This way you know if you like it or not and not every is the same size or likes the same kinda seat.
You could also go to a wrecking yard. They have LOTS of seats! I got mine from a Hyundai Tiburon. I've converted 3 Jeeps and am about to do another. The last one cost me $34 for each seat and about $15 in materials (metal and hardware).
I went the cheap China route with mine. They look good and work fine. But when I do it again, I will get good quality seats. The China seats are like sitting on a rock. I would rather get an OEM set out of a different vehicle like PC06 did. 6 hour road trips are no fun sitting on a rock.

SirCyber, I did the same exact conversion as PCO6. Tibby seats. They are an excellent choice, comfortable as all get out. Plus I got them for free, so win/win. I did have to buy some flat stock steel, but that's it. The brackets can be fashioned to be bolt together I think...but, I have a Miller 211, so welding was the better option for me.
I don't have exact measurements, you just need to pull all the stuff out, and figure it out, but it isn't difficult, if you can use a tape measure, you're golden, LOL
I will say this, it is one of the best things ever as far as comfort goes, I used to get fatigued in my knees after even short trips, and long trips on the stock seats, were miserable. I took a wheeling trip to Death Valley shortly after this mod, left at like 4am, and didn't get home until 9pm....was in the driver seat ALL day...I didn't start feeling it until the last hour or so on the ride home. I think it's fair to say, a major improvement.
I had part of the track break on my wifes '04 wj recently, i pulled the seat out, peeled back the fabric and foam and had a friend tig weld it. Sometimes its just easier to fix it than replace it

Those look great Ron. I like the cloth inserts. Some Tiburon seats also come with seat heaters but I've yet to find a set. If they're anywhere ... they should be up here!
I don't have a pic of my XJ brackets but here's a pick of the brackets I made for my LJ (hardware since replaced with Grade 8). It's generally the same and is a very straight forward project.
I'm about to do it to my MJ. The original MJ brackets/sliders appear to be a bit narrower than in an XJ but I'm sure I'll be able to figure things out once I get them taken apart.
