Default Cooling down the XJ

Besides changing thermostat and housing what else should be done. Radiator was replaced by PO last year. Is a hi flow water pump a good idea. Any ideas which one to use

I used a factory replacement water pump. Not a highflow one. I personally don't think there's a need for one. But I did get a 3 row all metal rad. Check your fan clutch? Make sure that and your electric fan works. I replaced all my cooling system components with Mopar parts. Then be rad from radiator barn. Works great. Both my fans work too.

Do some searches on this forum on the topic. The pump isnt going to help like you think. There is going to be another issue. Think system cleaning, new hoses, fan, fan clutch, electric fan, coolant replacement and volume........

hood vents, also removing your ac condenser will allow more air to pass through your radiator. A better radiator would help, as well as fan upgrades.

You should also get a better tranny cooler, and possibly an oil cooler.

Thanks for the great advise. Will be in market for a 3 core radiator tranny and oil coolers this week. Want to get everything under the hood completed before I put the lift and new tires on. Already picked up new hoses thermostat and housing, valve cover gasket. Still need brakes and rotors upfront new idler pulley

I wouldn't get an oil cooler. No need for it. The oil needs to be hot. But a good rad, tranny cooler, and even a power steering cooler would be all you need.
