Quote: My 48 *****'s does not have one, guess I will replace it. I did not know about them .After nearly 30 years lock up in FT Leavenworth I missed and forgot much. The three core replacement will stay ,that was near 400 dollars.it stays. That fan Clutch would not fit on the first water pump but water pump fit the engine . I returned exchanged it . The stock electric fan will not fit
The fan clutch doesn't go on the water pump.

Yes right on to it and it is a 4 cyl water pump on the engine, I'm told the fan is bigger on four cylinders . That's the way I bought the Jeep.

No wonder you can't get it to work then, red is the water pump, green is where the fan clutch mounts.

Like shown above, mech fan doesn't bolt onto the waterpump pulley, it has it's own pulley which is on the passenger side of the engine area. The driver side gets a small electric fan.

The way yours is does not work ,the fan hits the fan Clutch. My Jeep Cherokee Service Manual from Chrysler shows to different styles of cooling systems yours and mine.

How will you drive your water pump? Post a clear pic of the diagram you are using.

I don't know what service manual you are looking at, no 4.0 XJ ever came from the factory with the fan clutch mounted on the water pump.

Whew!!

I'm a little confused here. Is the 3 core radiator for an XJ or out of something else?
If for an XJ, all the stock cooling components should work fine.

In no way am I going to BS you. Understand that I'm running a 3 row with a 4cyl mechanical clutch in the factory position with an e-fan next to it.

Does that picture with the mechanical fan attached to the water pump note that is the 2.5L engine?
