Default Constant Death Wobble!!!

Well. I wouldn't say constant but its pretty often....

Heres my situation... I have a 93 XJ with a 6 inch lift... I did all of my research but it feels like i hit a wall. I had a bad case of Death Wobble with my stock 235/75/15's so I replaced the ball joints, outer tierods, "Inner tie-rod" (sleeve), and put in Rustys Adjustable TracBar... I now upgraded to 35's and have a serious case of DW... theres not much left to replace except for the pitman arm and pretty much the steering box right??

also (off topic) I have 172K mi on the XJ and im getting a loud Chain slap coming from the transfer case, {its a np231} at first it was a quiet metal on metal sound allmost as if something was hitting my fan and it progressively got worse and worse so I did a drain and fill on the fluid (thinking it was just low) but no such luck. Now its extremely unbareable and its just constant clanking and whistling, No drive-ability problems as of now but I dont want to push it much longer... what do you guys think; replace the transfer case or open her up and rebuild it?

hey bud the best thing to get rid of dw is to get yourself a drop pitman arm and have an alignment done.. it was the only thing that stopped my dw..

Well you should definitely have a drop pitman arm for a 6" lift. They're pretty cheap and a huge bonus if it fixes the death wobble.

you can check the steering box by having someone move the wheel while you watch to see if it moves. what brand ball joints and tie rod ends you use. some suck and do not last long. I have ran through 2 sets of autozones TRE's in 6 months. Small amounts of play in the parts adds up in a hurry. how much toe do you run? I would definitely open the case up and build it.

Make sure your budget kit has everything in it that a rc kit would have, then get someone else to align it (just in case).
