Default Cold air intake fuel evap hose issue.

Hey guys I'm installing my Spectre cowel intake and its missing the grommet that connects the fuel evap hose to the system. As of now its installed with the evap hose not connected to anything. Is there any way to remedy this without having to wait a week for Spectre to ship me the missing part? I know on newer cherokees there is no evap hose connected to the intake so there has to be an alternative.

Thanks!

Hey man! I got the Spectre cowl intake myself as well. I had the same issue you did. I dont know why Spectre has been having that problem but you'll get your part pretty fast. I got mine in 4 days after calling them.

In the mean time go to the local auto parts store and just get some radiator hose or the rubber hose they have in the back. I can't remember the exact size but I know you will need about 13inches

They'll let you check the size. Best of luck

Thanks man!

On a different note Did you find the intake was too short for the cowl bracket to be mounted flush without a gap before the bend?

I was able to get the bracket positioned better then the instructions show after a lot of cussing. There's still a small gap that will allow air to be sucked in from the engine bay I plan on fixing with sealant.

Step 9 shows what I'm talking about where the circle is cut off.

Glad I can help. And actually I know the problem you're having cause I slightly had the same problem too. I know that I screwed in those bolts pretty much as hard as they would go put there is a small hole left. What I did was go to home depot and got a piece of rubber mat to put inbetween (like a sealant spacer). Just cut the hole and use some glue or whatever. And there you go, cheap, but works. If all else fails, gorilla tape that thing haha

If you're talking about that small hose that goes to the intake, then when I installed my ebay one (they're all basically the same.) I just stuck it in the cone and tightened it down between the cone and tube. It makes a whistle after 2000rpms

Same problem here too. The pep boys down the street from me sells spectre intakes so I'm gonna take a trip there and see if they have the 90 degree elbow and gromet that are missing from the kit.

Autozone sells sheets of felpro gasket material u just trace and cut. They have thick cork, thin cork and blue and black rubber ones. I used the thick cork and it works great.
