Ok I have a 97 XJ, I don't have a lift but I put 30 in tires on it and I am getting a clunking sound and a bearing sound in the front end which I'm thinking it's the drive shaft. I replaced all u joints on it and it still happens. Do I need to do a transfer case drop to solve this problem just because I put bigger tires on it? I'm lost and don't know what to do next.

 

No you would not need a transfer case drop for bigger tires, if you did lift it you may need one. As for the noise possibly be the wheel bearing? How loud is it?

 

Did you do the joint on each axle side?

 

No I just did the joints on the drive shaft. When I disconect the front drive shaft it Dosn't make any sound only makes the sound when I have the front drive shaft connected its a noticeable clunking sounds and the bearing/squealing sounds is only when I go above 40. Over 50 is when I get the huge vibration.
