clocking a 242 tc
anyone done this ? i would like to get a flat as possible bellypan under my 98 w/ a 242. can it even be done to the 242, ive seen where it been done on the 231 before.

I have a write up saved on the 231.
Not sure if the 242 would work or not. You shoild be able to look under and see what kind of clearance is there. Then just use the gasket to figure out where the holes will be. |
i'm sure it can, but be advised the 242 is larger than the 231, and you'll need to massage the belly a bit more. also, you'll need an SYE if you dont already have one.

I just made a jig to clock my 231. Slid it over the transmission output shaft, Worked mint.
You will have to do some floor modification (i just hammered it up) and your front driveshaft angle will be worse (i had locking hubs, so it didnt bother me on the street) |
