clearancing for 1-ton steering - 1.5" tierod
Anyone with any insight on getting this 1.5" ruffstuff wonton steering to fit. I know I need to remove the sway bar mounts on the axle and grind the spring plates a bit but this tube just seems to hit everything. Already got my knuckles drilled out for the bigger TRE's. Seems that the 1.5" tubing is harder to clear then the 1.25" stuff that most kits use. I've already got these bad boys welded up and ready to go but I just don't see how I'll really clear everything without either losing some steering radius or putting bends in the tierod.

I had to adjust out my steering stops. it would still hit my aftermarket cover at full lock. not the end of the world since it actually saves the u-joints some.

I have a Currie cover with the ramp on the bottom but it should clear that no problem since I'm running the steering OTK. I don't mind losing some steering at full lock being as my tires usually rub my long arms before the knuckles hit the stops anyway lol.

I just ground my swaybar mounts off. It hits the diff cover at full lock, but I just back off my steering wheel a little or like others said. Adjust the stops
