Default Class III Hitch

So I'm thinking of buying a class 3 hitch that will fit my XJ, but it doesn't have the installation hardware. The kit online is $58, but could I just go to Lowes and get the parts I need? Got a '01 Cherokee XJ. Here's the PDF. I don't have a gas tank skid, but I'm looking to get one. Can anyone point me in the right direction for the exact hardware I'll need? Sorry for the beginner questions.

There's generally some pretty specific mounting hardware.. I imagine you could do it with store bought grade 5 or higher hardware, but i don't know, it can be an involved process. Doing mine involved cutting a hole in unibody's "frame rail" and some extensive fiddling..

I installed my class III curt hitch a few weeks back. I don't know about hardware since mine came with everything but for mine I had to remove the bumper and shim it out about a quarter of an inch in order for the hitch to not rub it.

I got a pair of nut strips from JCR offroad for $44. My frame only had spots for 3 of the bolts but they worked pretty good.

id suggest doing the gas tank skid first you may have to remove the hitch if you do it second it could be a pain in the ***. plus i think you need relativiley specific hardware to mount the hitch so the bolts actually tighten and stuff
( dont know if thats much help but good luck )

those nutstrips are what ya need. just took one off on mine last week since bumper has a 2" receiver built into it. take off bumper, install, reinstall bumper.
