It's like the title says. Can a 29 spline 8.25 hold 37s? I don't wheel just for looks on the road. And maybe just cruising the beach here and there. Will it hold up or will it 🌋?

Why run 37's on a DD though? (I know, because Jeep) I would understand if it was a trail rig, 37's are going to be obnoxious on road. Sucks to balance those too.

Dude you brought it upon yourself. Really 37s on a street rig? Soooo 2k in tires thatll last about 30k miles, another 1500 in gears and probably have someone install them, if you want it to be a pavement princess I can assume your against chopping the hell out of the jeep so you need like a 8.5'' lift. So youll be dropping over 5k so it'll look "cool"

SMH...
Yeah, you'll be fine with that axle and 37s. You could pull your front driveshaft and only regear the rear to save some cash, just don't plan on using 4wd.
Btw, don't forget to get the biggest flashiest wheels you can find. All the essay's love those.

I'm also curious how long that Dana 30 will hold up, even on beach cruising, with that size tire.
Have you thought about brake upgrades to stop all that rotating mass?
It's your money and your life, and you are certainly free to do as you please. But be prepared for many of us to give you a bit of grief over it. Especially when, by your own admission, it's all just so it will look "cool".
And doubly so when your "upgrades" are done without consideration of other mechanical factors and road safety for yourself and others.
Those big meats won't be so cool when you rear-end a minivan with a mom and three kids in it because your XJ takes 300 feet to stop from 60 and bounces around like a freaking diving board the entire time.
Have you considered the fact that with tires that size, any kind of blowout at highway speeds is pretty well going to all but guarantee a roll-over?
Just because you can doesn't mean you should.
In all honesty, if your profile pic is what you are running now, that's plenty beefy enough, both from an appearance standpoint and if you ever wanted to actually go off-road.

Nobody really brought up the front axle either. D30's can take a lot but not 37's. You would be fine if you build a super 30, but thats $$$. It's not worth it for the look, it will obliterate your ride comfort for just a head turn here and there. You'll be balancing them 3 times a month.
