Default Chevy Half Tonne Bastard Pack?

I have a question about a bastard pack for my '89 XJ. I've read and heard lots about bastard packs using Blazer and S10 leaf springs, but I was wondering if the leaf springs out of an '88 Chevy half tonne would work the same? I have no problems buying the leafs out of an S10 or Blazer, but I have a junked '88 Half tonne sitting in my yard so if they'd work it wouldn't cost me a dime.

Any help is appreciated.

Here's a link to my build thread I recently started.

If they are the same width. Then I would try them out. It won't cost you anything.

Thanks for the replies guys. Found out that apparently any leafs that are 2 and a half inches wide will work for a bastard pack so I'm gonna measure them and give it a shot.

I bought a pair of single leafs 1/2 ton out of a chevy and i put them together on a bastard pack - but because they are soo heavy duty it gave me more lift than i was looking for and the ride was really stiff. even with all the weight i carry around in the back. so i went back to stock.

i recently found another xj pack and tonight will be adding & swapping those in. hopefully to correct some sag i have. i carry lots of heavy stuff in the back and these are stock springs from 87...

But to answer, yes it will work as long as the ones you get are 2.5" wide.
