Default Cherokee vs. Comanche

Once I sell my truck I was going to buy another XJ but I remembered about the MJ so I wanted to hear peoples opinions on which you would pick, pros and cons of both, whats the best year of both, and whats the best for overall standards of both. Thanks!

Onions are over-rated. Shallots rule.

I tried to buy a 90 MJ before I bought the XJ but the guy was nuts on the price for the condition it was in. 4 grand caved in hood, rust, no tail gate, rotted tires and 205,000 mi along with a redneck wiring job under the hood.

Just had to pass but would have bought it for 1500 or so and made it a long term project.

My neighbor just bought a 2wd MJ with a shortbed to replace his XJ ( Had Major Unibody Tears ) Over the next couple months were going to do a complete drive train swap, use the XJ's front clip possibly dash . It'll have 5.5" Lift off the XJ up front, and were gonna use the rear XJ axle in the MJ to go SOA with some shackles , We know we have a lot of work ahead of us

lol. onions

if you can find a 91 or 92 manche I'd say maybe. the only reason I'd build an MJ is if it was going to be a desert runner all fiber glassed out. cherokees are better trail trucks IMO. enclosed cargo space 4 seaters and all that

i had a Comanche for a little bit... I absolutely loved it... Didn't wheel it much but an awesome daily/trail ride truck...now that it's gone and I'm in a 99 I wish I had the spare cash for. Comanche to do a complete swap .... But awesome trucks
