Default Cheap Snorkel... Where to start?? Bay Area CA

Hey guys... So I feel like an idiot now since I just installed a 6.5 long arm kit and a slip yoke eliminator/driveshafts with my rig sitting in an apartment complex lot but I cant figure out the snorkel for the life of me... It is one of those 150$ no name snorkels on ebay my girl got for me since I was doing my build.. Zero instructions came with it of course... Any one know of a write up or anything?? 96 XJ is what it is going on..

Also, maybe anyone in the Bay Area (CA) know anything that would be willing to help?? Beer, food, $, all the same to me..

Thanks guys...

it should have came with a drilling template that you tape on your fender and drill through. I lost mine so I just eyeballed it but it was very risky and I got lucky after that just route the hose to your airbox after cutting off the stock nose piece

there is a lip on the backside of the snorkel where the lip is on the fender, that's how you can line it up. how trimmed are your fenders? they might be trimmed to much, heres a pic of mineName: IMAG0931_zps5a7bbbf0.jpg

Oh ok.. I should have enough room.. doea the flex hose run under the fender well to the bottom of the intake in the front then? Also how did you know where to put the bracket next to the windshield?

Question. Are you planing on crossing water that will crest the hood?

If not. Sell it and do the cowl snorkel mod. No cutting up fenders. You are good in deep water as long as its not up the the base of the windshield deep. Probably other things you need to worry about at that point anyways.

Its an ARB clone look at the instructions for the safari snorkel you'll see it is run inside the wheel well and turned up after just below the back of the head light. On late models the washer bottle needs to be moved or and an old model's installed where it wasn't under the fender. I suggest coating the area on the back of the snorkel where you have to drill if chock. Line it up and push it should leave a mark.

As far as creek driving I probably will be to an extent. . How deep? Not sure... thus has the added effect of feeling bad my girl thought she did sooo well getting it so there's that... haha she ket me dump 6000 into my build so I can't tell her no now...
What is the cowl induction mod you speak of though????

And if I do end up doing this I will do a good write up

Raaaaaaaah! I read one a few days ago but my spacing is pretty tight in the fender, going to have to look into it further.

Here it is man.

http://www.xjtalk.com/showthread.php?t=12269

I'm a LAR guy, spent most of my time with 2nd LAR on Lejeune and now I'm in the Palms with 3rd.

Life is sweet when you come to 29...said no one ever. I gotta admit though I love taking the jeep out, I sold my 2003 Cobra for this jeep and it was the best choice I made.

If you ain't 03, you ain't ****.
