Cheap ebay air intake opinons...
There are 2 style available , one that is aluminum all the way from TB and one that has a short tube at end of stock flex tube. Any one have either of these ? Just wondering, onlylooking for a cooler sound in town. And these are $29 shipped. Figure I would spend that if I did home depot PVC and filter. Thanks .

I have had both. I currently have the first option. They really dont do anything when speaking about performance although it does sound decent under hard throttle. The first one seems to ride higher in the engine compartment and seems less susceptable to water. Just my 2 cents. Good Luck!!

Thanks for the input. I didn't expect HP gain just noise and something cool looking. I would even remove when wheeling and point stock tube towards firewall.

I have one like the second one and my dad has the first one on his 97. They are both pretty much the same thing. If I remember correctly mine is a little bit louder than his but it's hard to hear now over the exhaust.

I had the second one and they defintely give a cool sound if you dont have a loud exhaust obviously, so you can hear it. Performance wise, not anything really but upgrade to a k&n for 15$ (buy seperate)....or what you can do, this guy in local jeep club here did, used stock airbox and put adapter in so you can drop in a k&n but had like a quick disconnect thing to switch from that filter to his snorkel. Was pretty cool, didnt explain to well tho sorry

This guy has them both. But there are many others if you just search cherokee air intake.

I've got the first.. it is ok. Was missing some of the mounting hardware but I bought from a different seller so that could be the reason.

do a search, there are plenty of thread on it. From what I hear, they come with no instructions, they do work, but they have some crazy Chinese name in raised letters on the side that is not pictured on the ad. Just do a cowl snorkel, seal front of air box and run hose from back of box to driver side of fire wall. I might end up doing this again as opposed to the the options I posted in this thread as it gives water protection and pulls colder air.
Water is bad anyways, haha

I put in something similar recently, and my first trip over 2 miles and 35pmh made me wish I had of done it sooner. I posted a similar thread a couple months back and everyone said "Dont waste your money". Well I wish I had of wasted it sooner because I noticed a HUGE difference. More power, quicker throttle response, quieted my motor considerably and made a BIG difference in my mileage.
I was on the highway, doing 75-85mph for 150 miles one way. The motor was quiet and had less vibrations throughout the whole Jeep. I got an extra 1/8th of a tank of gas over that 150 miles and when I stepped on it to pass someone, it got up and WENT! EASILY the best $40 bucks Ive spent on my Jeep considering gas is currently $3.55 and I make this trip once a month. Ill get my money back in a couple trips.
