Kind of going backwards but it's been done a ton. Hope you plan on upgrading axles because with that much lift you could clear 44s pretty easily. Plan on doing some serious frame reinforcement.

Coils would be much cheaper IMO. 8 inch coils with 2 inch spacers are much cheaper than huge springs. Plus it would flex like a champ

I've been tossing around the idea of front leafs because they are much much cheaper than coils, long arms etc. If you have a welder and a place to get steel then the swap should be pretty easy and cheap; like couple hundred bucks. Plus at the same time you can swap the front axle and not have to deal with stripping the brackets from the d30.

If you are going to go to that height, then leaves are a better option than coils unless you remake the whole thing. The factory track bar will not handle it anyway. The hardest part will be cutting all that stuff off and welding in perches. One thing I would suggest though is to make a YJ style track bar for the street to avoid bump steer.

You dont "need" a track bar on the YJ's but does make it nicer on the road

The only thing it is for is bump steer, particularly on a lifted one. Railroad tracks can get scary diving towards the ditch.

Keep in mind how much arch a leaf needs for 10" of lift. It's going to ride like a tank and flex like one as well.

+1. Leaves that have that much arch are very expensive and coils are cheaper to buy.

Coils do flex better but the leaves will be more sturdy in the mud. And the pic the op put up, I'm gonna guess he likes it thick and deep.(Twss) and leaves are better for that.

You dont need all arch to get the height, just lower the attachment points of the leafs and you go plenty of lift will relatively flat leafs.

The last thing you want on a mud truck is a mini plow on the front to stop your forward momentum. Lower points to mount=more places to push mud.

When you consider the price of a high steer, custom track bar and all the relocation, the leaves are cheap. Also long leaf springs can have a lot of arch. I guy on another forum uses leaves from a lifted chevy pu and has that much lift. Flexes well for him too.
