So I was trying to find a better storage idea for my stock center console. It's mundane and I was hoping for more. It's the stock tape in front with cd holders to the rear of box. Do they presently make a more storage friendly somewhere on aftermarket sites or do have others engineered something themselves?? Any ideas would help, lol

 

The Forum patrol are going to tell you this isnt fab... But I know what youre saying. I'd consider trying to build a box for under the seat. Perhaps.

The problem with that area is theres nothing really solid to tie in to. its all plastic, screwed to plastic. So yes I think you could make an insert but it would likely be much the same as it is now. If you made a metal insert it will just be a metal insert in a flimsy plastic console. This is probably why no one has messed with it.

The only other thing that I'd consider for inside the center console is maybe a switch / OBA air gauge panel. Flip up the armrest & bam... You could fit a bunch of carling switches in there.
