CB Radio recomendations.
Do the search deal but I've found the cheapy $40 radios can work the same if not better then expensive ones. I run a Cobra 129 just cause it comes with a built in SWR meter an a calibrator. It's nice to figure out the resistance between the antenna and radio. Antenna position can be a big thing to. I run a 102in antenna cause it helps with the range in the mountains. If you can get your HAM license I'd say go that route cause its clearer and you can get any where from 10miles to 25 if not more of range. Sorry bout it being long. I was a radio tech in the Army for 5 years haha
Nice. I've dinked around on CBs for a while. A lot of it can be personal opinion ect. Check out amazon and just type in cb radios and read some of the reviews. That may help a lil bit

If you just want a trail rig cb any will do, the cobra 25 and 29 are popular. If you want more power and the ability to transmit on more modes and channels look into 10 meter "export" radios. There are a ton but check out the connex 3300.

Also look at the anyone 5555 (also available as K-PO or Maas) it's quite big but has excellent test results. It does 12w on am but is really designed for SSB where it reaches 40W pep.
Another great rig is the cre-8900 which has similar specs but less power (no problem if your going to run a linear anyway) but is a genuine single din with brackets available.
