Default Catastrophic rc heim joint failure

Ok so I'm leaving my house last night to hang out with some friends. I get a little past the the end of my driveway and I hear a very loud bang and something hit the ground. I get out to find my rough country track bar has sheered off clean at the heim joint. I'm kind of really pissed. I'm going to call rc on Monday and tell them what's up

Ya I'll get some pics in a bit. I think I'm going to swap the heim for a normal bushing though. Makes more sense to me

A good heim will be stronger than a tie rod end and work at steeper angles. Key word is GOOD heim. Dan at Ruffstuff has such a thing.

Oh ya I know all about Dan. I just finished putting my whole heim steering set up from him. This is what's left of the heim. It'll be fixed in a bit. I'll update then

Def an inferrior product, should have never broken that easily. My steering is heims and I've bashed them on rocks and they look as straight as the day I put them in. Oh and I got them from Dan too.

Well the replacement is almost done left over tube from my steering and leaf spring bushings from a cj5. I think this will work better than the piece of **** heim!

So it's all done. Before the test drive does anyone see any reason why this won't work?

If it only went up and down no but there is other movement involved that's why most use heims or jonny joints. I'm sure it'd work for a bit but I'd find a replacement heim.

So apparently the bushing isn't stiff enough. When you turn the wheel the axle moves about 1/4 inch side to side which equals death wobble
