Has anyone ever added a bench seat in the cargo area to make an XJ a 7 seater? Something like the back seat out of a Wrangler or something? I wouldn't allow anyone to ride in the back on the highway. It would be for offroad use only. Just curious if anyone has made the attempt. Thanks!

Wouldn't be much head room.

 

Not unless you had a chop top...my next project is chopping it and installing a roll cage. I'd have room then.

You and anyone with a chop top would have room.

Probably not many that have done it, if any, but I'm sure if done up right it could work. You would have to angle the cage to account for the extra head room and I think it'd look a little funny. I'd be interested in seeing one though.

 

My brother in law just put in a seat from a company called little passenger seats. Quality is very good they matched the interior color and design perfect.

 

Chevy Suburban's have a very low, pretty narrow seat that might work. Had one growing up with my folks
