Can you drive with one stock LCA and one aftermarket LCA?
OK-long story short. I have searched up and down for this, usually as a member of a forum I rarely post questions because the answer is always out there.
I installed a 3” RC lift kit that came with new LCA’s. I got everything installed except the drivers side LCA because the rear bolt would not budge. No amount of pounding or trying to turn the bolt would get it to budge. I figured I would just drive it to a shop somewhere when I get my next GI bill payment, and let them cut it out or something. Would I do any damage driving on a stock LCA on the drivers side, and an aftermarket LCA on the passenger side? I appreciate any input. Thanks!

I will measure the LCAs to see if they are the same length this afternoon. I have a spare car to drive if I need to. If they are the same length would it be safe to drive? At least to a shop about 10 miles away. I understand that if they aren’t the same length it’s not safe and could cause damage, but I would at least hope a few miles to a shop would t hurt anything.

Well the LCAs are definitely not the same length, about a half inch difference on the area for the bolt holes. Guess I’ll be figuring out another way to get those bolt out. Sucks that the whole lift is done, did it by myself with just hand tools breaking all this rusty crap loose, and now 1 bolt is stopping me from driving it.

Here’s some pictures I took of the uninstalled drivers side new one, and the old passenger side one. I’ll let y’all judge from the pics what y’all think. There’s a little difference in the bolt mounting holes, about a half of a hole length.

Still no luck getting the old bolt out either. Used a big C clamp, big sledge, no luck...I know a shop could probably cut it out...just gotta be safe to drive to a shop...

The bolt may have rusted to the sleeve, just like leafsprings. If the shop uses a torch, i hope they know what theyre doing as the fuel line passes near the LCA on the driver side at the body. Ive seen some pretty crappy work when shops start playing with fire.
