Default Can this be done???

I'm new to jeeps so I don't know about this.
Can the front hubs on an XJ be converted to manual locking? Reason I ask this is I have always owned Fords & Chevy that had these type of hubs. It seems to me that having your front axles, dif, DS, and Tcase turning all the time is just excess and needless wear and tear on components. Not to mention it would almost have to get better mileage because it would roll easier with less components turning.

Just wondering

It can be done, but it's really expensive for the kit and you really gain nothing.
