Default CAD bypass question (1989 cherokee)

So i was looking at the CAD bypass that engages the 4th wheel for 4Wd, right now, I'm having an issue where the vacuum wont engage that wheel, so I was thinking of taking it apart as the bypass says, moving the bearing over and installing the C-clip on the other side.

Now my question is, I have a front spartan locker, will this now engage that wheel all the time or will my jeep still behave the same in 2wd?

I'm thinking I cannot do the bypass as it will make that wheel engage all the time and might need to work something else out or fix the vacuum problem. (please don't mention the manual posi-lock as a solution, I know about it, not sure if I am a fan of it or not)

Thoughts?

To answer the OP's question...

No, you will not really notice that the locker is in the front unless you engage 4wd.

The locker should not lock unless power is applied through the drive shaft.
