I am deleting the A/C on my jeep. I already ordered the delete pulley. I plan to in the future put something else there. I want it ride ready so doing the quick delete for now.
I just had a thought about a possible fix without needing the delete pulley.
If I was to buy a ribbed idler pulley and put it where the stock idler pulley goes and use this belt routing.
I also have already deleted the mech fan so this is my current belt routing

Possible new routing with ribbed idler pulley instead. Part from 1995 blazer with 4.3 v6.
possible issue is if the pulley is bigger than stock pulley it may not fit under the thermo housing. I will do some measurements tomorrow. This routing if it would work would give me more grab on the alt as well. I know it would require a shorter belt and that's cool. I will update if this works. Any reason this wouldn't work that im not thinking of?

Best route in my mind if the ribbed pulley will work. I will go this route if i have to buy another belt seems to be the best way for contact.
I know I could do a similar route with the delete bracket and stock pulley but I had already bought this belt when I made my current route

or just remove all the lines and leave the compressor there? if the clutch isn't engaged, it's just spins free.
then you can turn it into an onboard air set-up later

Ribbed pulley will not work. Didn't think about it enough. When belt goes to ribbed the pulley goes over instead of under which means no room for belt to go under thermo housing. O well it was worth a shot. I may relocate altenator in future. Gonna just throw on delete pulley for now when it comes in.
