You could get an a/c delete pulley and use the stock belt or i beleive a 4.0 tj without a/c belt would work

x2, a/c doesnt work anyways, windows work great, and Im not throwing $1000s at a $2500 Jeep

edit:that is, Im not throwing $1000s at a $2500 Jeep unless the results can be measured in inches from the ground.

I see two issues with that set up: 1- not alot of belt contact on the main pulley 2- not alot of belt contact on the water pump. Both of which will hurt performance of the waterpump, power steering and alternator as the belt slips, plus premature wear of the belt. Might want to add a few idler pulleys to get more belt contact.

it cant be done dude, go grab some zj accessory brackets out of a 4.0 for your alternator(get the hardware and idle pulley off it too) that should bring you alternator up higher than stock, allowing you to delete the a/c without throwing on another pulley.here's a write up on naxja.

http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1016319

you DO NOT need the idle pulley under the steering pump. but you DO need the zj upper idle pulley for next to where the a/c goes. the zj pulley is bigger, and allows for more clearance around the thermostat housing. while you're at it, it also creates all the room you need for a zj 136a alternator. but that's your personal choice. I had alot of trouble installing it, most others dont.

I'll either go out in a minute or tomorrow when the sun is up and take a picture of my belt routing. as for size? pull the steering pump in all the way, the take a tape measure and wrap it around all the pulleys the way the belt would. the length it ends with is the length you buy.

that's the way your belt will go with the zj bracket. alternatively, if you need to use more length because the belt stretched or you bought a belt half an inch too big,you can route it along the blue in this picture. either route is suitable for the setup.

But the water pump is directional so you can just flip the belt around like that

edit: oops I meant 'CANT' just flip the belt around

Are you ever gonna do a winch?
If so i would look into dual alternators. If my A/C ever quits I'm gonna fab that up.
