Default Busted manual locker?

Idk if this is right spot but i was out on a dirt road and saw a pretty nice climb, as im going up, i hear a clunk see something fly off.. it was my mile marker manual hub locker that busted into a bunch of peices, jeep is all stock except 3 in lift on 33'' 4.0 4wd. hp30 front 8.25 rear. so has anyone ever heard of this? i was kind of shocked myself. pics below

Man thats a bummer. looks like someone did a Mile Marker hub conversion. Ive seen that happen/aftermath once, but it was an old Chevy truck with locking hubs.

Those look a lot like Ford Ranger hubs.

i dont know if mile marker makes them anymore, but if you get a warn kit, those are north of $1k. thats why you dont see many of them. total waste of money.

yeah being that it's a 2000 and has a high pinion d30, someone swapped that in. i can see that the pinion angle has been changed, so someone spent some cash on that axle and swapped it into that jeep.

it could be a ranger axle, not sure what setup they used and if it's the same as a cherokee. i know the bolt patterns are the same.

i'm sure you can buy just warn locks and swap them mile marker units out for not a whole lot of money. i've seen axles with one mile marker on one side and a warn hub on the other.

that sux, cause without knowing where that axle came from, it's hard to order parts for it, cause all shops know jeep didn't use lock out hubs since the CJ.

a lot of mile markers conversion kits used ford hubs...the old dodge conversion did.

I busted mine once, but not the hub, the axle stub broke.

and it's a manual locking hub...not a manual locker.

Yeah all rangers have been ttb.Warn makes a hub kit for the xj so i believe mile marker probably did also.Or its a warn kit that used a off the shelf hub and they put mile markers on it.Or mile marker use to make a kit and don't now.I would email mile marker see what they say.

I did a search in the Modified section and found several references to this conversion. Here is one of the reasons most don't do it.

Was too expensive for what you get out of it.
