brake squeal from the bracket

Anyone with an XJ have brake squeal because the pads wore a groove into their steering knuckle? Obviously on a jeep XJ the bracket is part of the spindle or knuckle. Only way to fix this aside from replacing it would be to weld a few beads and grind them down. Seems pretty straight forward. Just checking to see if anyone has done this before...
