So recently i got a pair or rough country shocks off a lifted grand cherokee at the junkyard and I used my rear sway bar mounts as BPE's. They seem to be making a lot of noise on bumps
and I was wondering if there is any way to quiet them down

What's making noise? Shocks or bpe and where did you put the bpe?

The bolt through the shock should be 5/8" diameter. I recall when I made BPEs out of my sway bar mounts, I had to drill the hole out to fit a 5/8 bolt. Otherwise the shock will be sloppy on the bolt and bang around.

I have some Rocky Road BPE's in the rear and they are FANTASTIC
Previously I wanted to drive off a cliff because of how much my jeep clunked going over even the smoothest of roads. Now it is SILENT even offroad and on washboard roads (minus the dash rattle).
My suggestion is to figure out where there is any play - in the BPE mount to the body, or with the bolt that goes through the shock eyelet.
Are your shock bushings in good shape? You can get a new set for $5 or $6 bucks IIRC

That's another option. If drilling the holes out isn't an easy option, you can scour Amazon or eBay for different size shock bushings to match the bolt size on you BPEs.
