Default Bogged down little power to wheels

Ok its a XJ 2000 4.0L auto
6.5" lift sye 33s
When you hit the pedal to the floor the engine rpms go up like normal but the jeep barely moves thought brakes were locked or something went down the block moved max 15-20 mph. Went up a hill bogged down completely stopped put it in 4 High nothing put it in 1&2 gear finally went up the hill just barely. Hear a pop and scraping sound from the front but that could be something else.

Is it transmission?
Transfer case?
Differential?

Check tranny fluid... maybe slipping on low fluid??? If it was rear gears, I would think that 4wd would have given you movement with the front...

I had similar running issues like you described when my catalytic converter went bad, one of the filter blocks inside came loose and was choking it out.

I believe only on the California emissions models. But you'll have to crawl under there and look
