right now i believe i have what looks like 4 inch blocks in the rear of my xj, i was debating about going to full 8 inch leafs but wasnt sure if it was worth it.
along with the blocks i think i have either 4 inch leafs or 2 inch leafs with a 2 inch shackle.

4" blocks in an xj = axle wrap. Get rid of that crap, unless your rig is a pavement princess.

get the 8' leafs, blocks arent too safe especially if you plan on wheelin' it

Lift blocks are fine on the road... Most of the time off the road unless your a serious wheeler... Look at all the f150 and silverado lifts... They all have blocks... Never a problem... They do cause axle wrap but not normally enough to hurt much... just wear out your oem springs quicker...

truck springs are much more heavy duty than our supple, flexy 1/4 ton xj springs.

blocks do not belong on an xj at all in my opinion. even a pavement pounder.

and if you really want 8" of lift, don't run 8" leaves. run a shorter leaf and an extended shackle. the longer travel leaf spring needs a longer shackle to function properly.

Ditch the blocks, they cause axle wrap and tend to split and fall out!

Ive never seen a real 8in block anyways... Lol... Thats way to much... And ive seen jeeps, s10's, rangers, yotas... All with blocks and go for years... Blocks do suck... There are way better options however I think all the real offroaders have talked so much hate about them that everyone thinks they wont do the job... But in most cases they will do fine...

I have ran browns camp here in Oregon 3 times with blocks. It does fine. I just had them on when I bought the jeep and have been saving for an iro 5.5 la kit

if axle wrap is really a threat, why not just use an anti wrap bar? would it cause less flex?
