Best way to boost new rear leaf
Hello All,
Just got rid of my inverted rear leaf springs and replaced them with a new set of the Dormans, wow what a difference! It feels like a new truck!
Old leaf spring
New spring install and a new set of 30.5/9.5/16
I'm wanting to budget boost it now to 2", maybe 3". Given how saggy the old spring pack is, would it be worth making a bastard pack with them?
Ozzie

I agree for that amount of lift and if you decide that a small amount is needed in the front coils to match the rear spacers are available from 1/2" up.
I used a set Boomerang Shackles for a 1 1/2" of lift on a temp thing waiting on a long arm upgrade for mine. They seem to work fine and do show a little more articulation than a standard set.

Thanks for the replies.
This is a 2wd DD, so that is the reason behind just a BB. So would I need to worry about shackle angles at all? That's the purpose of the relocations brackets, right?
I did get an 1" of lift from the new springs, so I'd be looking for a shackle 1.5"-2".
I measured exactly 18", so I have a 1" boost from the springs, measured about a week after install.
I got these off of Amazon for $100 and free shipping after reading the reviews there. The amount of lift in the reviews was anywhere from nothing to 1"+. I think they had 22 reviews and scored a 4.5 out of 5.
The other Omix (?) leafs were cheaper, $80, but didn't have as many or any reviews, I can't remember.
So far these are great springs, it rides awesome compared to the inverted springs.
The tires are 30.5/9.5/16 and prior to the springs the rubbed pretty good on bumps. Now I have no issues with the rears. They do rub the LCA's on hard over.
I got those off Craigslist for $160 and they look brand new.

My 01 XJ Sport is bone stock. Ride height was 18" front and 16.5" rear. About two weeks ago I put the Dorman 929-301's in with new shackles and its now 18" all around +/- 1/8" and looks pretty much like the "after" Jeep picture earlier in this thread. No squeaks, clunks, or surprises after install. If your u-joints are old you may want to replace them as they may start acting up with the new ride height. Bottom line - Dorman's restore factory ride height, nothing more, and nothing less, unless you had the UpCountry package which had a little higher ride height than the Dorman's provide.
