Default Best tire pressure for even wear on 31's???

I have Goodyear Wrangler 31's, should I go by what it says on the tire or what?

I'm looking for best tire wear and decent ride.

What are you guys running?

On my Cooper 31x10.5 STT's I ran 29 psi in the front and 27 in the rear and the wear was great. With my 31x12.5 xterrains I am running 31 in the front and 29 in the rear. With the 37x12.5 MT/R's on my Taco I am running 22 in the front and 18 in the rear...

As Jerm said, try the chalk test. I've got my 33x12.5 Duratracs at 28 fr/26 rear. Some people I know who have 31s on their Cherokees run them just below 30. Hard to say for sure though, it depends on sidewall flexibility and vehicle weight so its a little different for everyone.

The chalk test works good. You could also run what the door plate says from the manufacturer no matter what tire size you run and go from there. You dont want to run what the tire state becausse that same tire can fit all diff kinds and weight of vehicles. If you max it out for yours and yours is not that heavy then the centers will wear and the ride will suck and visa versa with to little air the outers will wear and the mpg's will go down also but the ride would be nicer. I run between 25 and 30 max on my 36's and may bump them up if i tow the boat for some reason and i get 45k or more out of any tire i have run. With enough still on them to sell as used when i replace them.
