Best tire for my WW/DD? What are you running?
Hey guys, my jeep is sitting on a 3'' lift I have 4" back spaced 8" wide wheels and my fenders are trimmed. This is the vehicle I drive back and forth to work every day but is still turning out to be a very capable trail rig. Anyway I'm sure you can agree its time for bigger better tire.

I have made my self a short list.
1) BFG KM2 33x12.50 Narrow, light, tough.
2)DC Mudcountry 33x12.50 good price, they look meaty, pretty true to size.
3)Cooper SST 33x12.50 Ive always had good luck with Cooper for tire wear.
4)Duratracs 33x12.50 I am worried about side walls as my AT's right now are very chewed up only after 12 or so good trail rides, but I think these would be the best on the street and are nice and light for decent pickup and fuel economy.
Keep in mind This is a trail rig that I need to drive back and forth to work, not a street jeep that once and awhile hits some light trails.

Pretty much the same story here. I've run KM2's and duratracs, and I would buy the coopers again hands down.

Thanks for the info. The coopers already have been in first place in my book especially if I do new wheels. I think they would look awesome on white wagon wheels after I get my bed lined sides done.

If you do any amount of serious wheeling where the sidewalls can get damaged get the Goodyear Kevlar MT/R's. I run them for the summer and Duratrac's for the winter.

Currently running the Dura tracs. Pulled them off the wifes TJ when we sold it. Awesome tire in the snow. You should be worried about the sidewalls. They are thin. Yes, we have cut a couple. Had a set off the Cooper STT and that is what I will get again for the XJ. Probably the WJ also. I daily drove in all kinds of weather with the STT no problems. That armor tek3 sidewall is super durable.

Cooper STT seems to be a great combination, looking at getting a set to use for the same purpose on and off road.
I actually know a lot of pick up guys running them basically year round for mud and snow and have no problems here in michigan.

Guys have a look at these I bought them locally for $688 for 5 of them mounted, balanced, new valve stems, on my new wheels. They are Gladiator GR-9000-M/T's 33x12:50x15's
They have been very good so far off road in the rocks, mud, gravel stream beads, and snow on and off road. I do air down to 15psi without any problems and on highway run 32psi.
Just a heads up as far as a price point for some but for me it came down to see how many that I might end up ruining in a year or so....as of 2 yrs NONE! BTW they aren't all that loud on the highway as they might look to be.
