Best Shackle Relocation Kit / Shackle

1 Attachment(s)
I'm currently sitting at around 7'' with a full 6.5 pack and leaf box sliders. My ride quality is OK, but it kicks on bumps and it gets annoying. I used to have like a 3'' leaf pack. The previous owner said it was a bastard pack, but I don't know for sure. I want to go back to that pack, but want to add a shackle relocation kit and shackle. I was wondering what I should get.

I see RC sells the relocator and adjustable shackles, but people are saying stay away from RC. I like HD Offroad's relocators. What's a good adjustable shackle? I should be able to hit about 6.5 - 7'' with this new setup, right?

Here's a pic of my old lift if you think it'll help determine what I had. I had that leaf pack with a stock shackle on 33s.

I'm making a set of these. Will cost me $0 so it's the best relocaters in my opinion. Hahah .

I unfortunately don't have access to metal or a welder, and the same goes for my buddies. haha

Leadfoot made the brackets I'm using. They work awesome.

I forgot about FST! I was looking at his low profile relocators back when they were still being made. Now so I can know the difference, what are the differences between FST's and like HD Offroad's? Metal quality? Design?

Cheers

Also, are these shackles worth the money?

I'm planning on getting one of these brackets soon, as my shackle angle is near vertical. I was leaning towards RC, why have people been telling you to stay away from them?

Just cause of their quality, I guess. I'm running RC coils and they're doing fine so far. I ran their wheel spacers and despite tightening and using Loctite, they came loose. But that could be anything, I guess. If the RC relocators and adjustable shackles are nice, I wouldn't mind getting them then.

The RC brackets add lift, also, looking at the design, looks like it will succumb to sideways pressure.

The FST relocators have a great design, strong, bulletproof strong. Only hesitating factor I had was having to cut out stock box. But it was 110% worth it in the end. Great angle, no adverse height gain, fully customizable.

RCs shackle relocation kits don't use any of the hitch mounting points. They just use the shackle bolt and 2 smaller bolts they attach to the rear "crossmember". There have been instances when those small 2 bolts tear out or the crossmember bends so the shackle relocation kit rocks back and forth.

We still make our low pro and standard shackle relocation kits. Actually have both currently in stock.

Let me know of you have any more questions.

Oh wow, these look BEEFY. Looks like very high quality! When I'm ready to pull the trigger on buying the next batch of jeep parts, these will definitely be on the list!

FST (which I'd recommend and plan on buying), HD Offroad, Ironman 4x4 and RC are the only ones I've seen that make em

92XJGuy 05-21-2013 11:00 PM

Alright, sweet. What should I get for a shackle? I like those IronMan fab ones. Little pricey, but they look beefy and can net me up to 3.5''.

I was actually gunna suggest his shackles too. You'll be able to set your height exactly how you want it. There's a lot of wiggle room with his shackles
