Bad vibrations after installing spacers
I just installed 1.25" 5x4.5 to 5x4.75 wheel adapters too my 1998 cherokee 2dr 2wd so I can could put on 17" wheels of a corvette, sounds silly but it actually turned out looking pretty cool in my opinion. Rides and drives great until I hit 50mph after that I get a the terrible vibration that I found out after some research is referred to as "death wobble." Im not sure if the tire shop I went to balanced the wheel as I did not watch the whole job, so that's my first move is to get the wheels balanced with the spacer installed to the wheel. If it continues after that, Here is where I'll need some assistance in what I should do next
Thanks in advance for the help. I'll try to post some pics of the jeep as well.

Chasing death wobble can be a huge pain. Chances are, it's from the new wheels and tires so, have them balanced again and see where that takes you. There are sever threads on death wobble for you to read while you wait for the tires to get balanced again. Check ball joints, track bar, tie rod ends, wheel bearings and u joints.

Okay thanks for the advice, I'm going to get the wheels balanced today so I'll see what that does for me. I'll get back to here with the results

Well got the wheels balanced the other day, it's definetly not as violent as it used to be that's forsure. Still a good enough vibration to spill a 3/4 soda all over my seats! Lol but I looked under te jeep and started pulling on things and found there to be a pretty good amount of play in the lower control arms of the jeep. I got new bushings for the arms and I'll be installing those tonight. The track bar seemed to be ok when the shop put it on the lift, I wasn't to sure how else to check other than looking for things that may be loose. I'll get back on here tonight when the jobs done and I take it for a spin. Wish me luck 😄

If I remember right Corvette wheels are hub centric. It could be with the spacer you are now using the lugs to center it and that could be part of the problem.

Well no luck with getting those bushings out.. I Took them back and now waiting on new control arms themselves with bushings already installed. As for the wheel adapters they are not hub centric but seemed to fit pretty snug on the hub it's self. the adapter itself does not have a lip for the wheel too sit on either. What are these wheel rings you're referring too? Is it a whole other wheel adapter or a piece that will go onto my adapters?
Thanks
Thanks

Okay I believe I answered my own question with the hub centric rings. Makes sense to me and worth a shot since there like $10. New question is though will I need them for just the spacer to wheels or hub to spacer and then another for spacer to wheel. These wheels are turning into a bit more of a hassle than I thought. Lol
Thanks again
Thanks again

If the spacers are larger than the hub's center, I'd highly recommend centric rings for the spacers as well as the wheels.
It is ideal for not only centering the wheel to the hub, but primarily strength. Without these rings, all of the load is transferred directly to the spacers studs and/or the hub's studs instead of the hub directly. This is essentially why a lot of people don't recommend spacers, and ultimately why some people end up shearing the studs right off the spacer or the hub. The rings will fix this problem.
Most Jeep specific spacers are hub and wheel centric, that is assuming your using an OEM Jeep wheel. Add an aftermarket wheel to the mix (even steelies), and there is a good probability the wheel is no longer being supported by the spacer.

Gotcha I have to measure the diameter of the spacer and the wheel hub diameter and figure out which hub ring I'll need and if need by I'll get the hub some rings too
Thanks pretty cool website by the way, wish I had a 4x4 cherokee lol
