axle/vehicle ID
Ok, i have a 79' Ford 3/4 ton dana 44 with 8lug outters and external hubs... I need some parts for it. Problem is that everywhere (Autozone,O'riellys, RockAuto, etc.) seems to want to search parts based off of the the model/class/motor of the vehicle. I know it came off a 79 F250 that was 4x4, but that isnt quite enough info to pull the right parts, as i am now finding out as brown santa brings me gifts that arent fitting! I mean, did this d44 come from the 5.0 V8, the 6.2V8, was it standard or extended cab? what am i looking for?

those axles came on f250 no matter what motor was in it the only difference would of been gearing acording to motor sizes its no that freakng hard its the auto parts guy causing the issue,5.8 would of been the most common motor used in 79
