Default axle tube seals dana 30

Has anyone used the axle tube seals before thought about getting a pair for my dana 30 to help keep dirt grime and mud out of the tube and I keep blowing inner seals so it will help to keep gear oil in there too hopefully any feedback will be appreciated

No. Just add some oil to the outside and push them in, then grease them when you put axles back in.

Did you see my PM?#

if you have the vacuum disconnect d30 the passenger side will NOT work. i had to take mine to a machine shop to have the center bored out so the splined end of the shaft would fit through it. the drivers side works great as is.

I was just looking at these last night. I have to replace my axle seals and thought about adding these to my axle. They seem like a good idea, but I just don't see them lasting that long. I can see the internal seals on these wearing out. I'd like to hear from some one who has ran these for a while, see how they are holding up...

60 bucks isn't too bad to try them out.

I've had mine for a little over a year and i bought them used. I don't know how many miles they saw before i owned them but they're still in good shape. Just give them some grease at every oil change and they'll likely last a long time.

You will need to make sure everything is cleaned up before you install these or they will get eaten up by dirt & grime from the inside out. This is what happened to my first set - the installer didn't clean up the tube first. Later when I had my D30 rebuilt the new guy gutted the whole thing nice & clean. The new seals have been in there for 2 years now, no leaks.

What would be the best way to clean the axle tubes out a pressure washer perhaps?????

Mines torn apart now. The tubes are filled half way up with dirt on each side, was gonna vacuum them out. These seals seem awesome, probably gonna end up buying a set.

Before I installed mine, I did clean out the insides of the axle tubes. I used my shop vac with a piece of 1" pvc taped to the nozzle. Then you can wipe them out with a rag taped to the pvc. I would NOT recommend using a pressure washer, you'll be blowing the dirt right into the diff...

Would be ok to pressure wash I guess if you've also got the diff cover off so you could spray and wipe it down after.

You'll still never get the crud and grit out of the bearings and what not. Plus, why would you want to introduce water to the inside of the diff? I'm not trying to offend anyone, but i think it's just a poor idea and there are better options. Suck the dirt out rather than pushing it further in...Isn't anyone going to chime in and give me some support??? If anyone does this presure washer thing, let me know how it goes and the results.
