I was wandering if a set of Dana 44's from a cj would work in a xj?

i dont know what year the cj is and what width the cj axles are but ive heard they are narrower.

thanks

there was a thread about 3 hours ago in which it was determined that a narrow track CJ d44 axle is about 10" narrower than an XJ d44

Sorry I must have been skimming through. Does that 10" make a difference or can it still work?

you could just put 5" wheel spacers on each side

that just silly. don't do that, just buy 1 10" spacer and put it on one side. wait that would mess up shaft alignment. better go with the 5" spacers.

Why not swap in waggy 44's? If that's the route your wanting to go? They can usually be had pretty cheap

If it has them front and rear they aren't stock. CJs had a D30 front so who knows what they are out of.
