Default Axle ID and unknown device
Can any of y'all help me identify this axle/diff? It's got ten bolts around the cover. I'm thinking a D44 or D60...not sure though, I didn't find any clear labels on the actual housings. And what is the contraption sticking up on the right side of the diff cover. I appreciate the help fella's.

nope chevy is pass drop ford is drivers drop but 6 lug ?

its a grand waggy front....d44 that was a primitive axle disco i think...not sure i had one when i was 16

looks like a d44 and possibly a vacuum actuated locker. what kind of vehicle is that on? I see front leafs

Its on my xj now...the PO owned it for a couple weeks and didn't know what parts were swapped into it, I'm just getting to figuring this one out.
