Mine has two tags. One has (3.5) which is the ratio. The other has (1736) which I haven't been able to find a reference to. Not that I've tried a whole lot though.

Oh yea that's right silly me forgot what was on the tags which is the ratio not the splines
But that still leaves not knowing what (1736) refers to. Also my build sheet has (DRAS Corporate 8.25 Rear Axle). There was a brief discussion a while back about being able to tell a 29 from a 27 by the pinion yoke. Mine has the one on the right which we thought came on the 29's and is the only one offered by Rock Auto for a '96 C8.25. Rock Auto shows both types being available from '97 up to '01 for the C8.25 which we know are 29 splined. So I reckon the only way to be sure is to pull an axle.

Could it be a date stamp? 17th of March 1996? You do have a 96 right? Just guessing here....
Yeah I was looking at either the OX or True Track, apparently the TrueTrack is similar to what Humvees and Hummer H1's have the only problem is when a wheel is in the air you have to "trick" the diff into locking by using the brake/handbrake. If I use an OX I'd probably use the electric methods instead of cable so I don't have to mount the leaver. Any suggestions on whether I should use a different one for front versus rear.
It really depends on how you intend to drive the Jeep. It also depends on where in the country you live. If you live where you get ice and/or snow you may want to make a different choice.
