Ax-15 and np231

Ax-15 and np231
I have upgraded my Peugeot to an ax-15 and 23 spline np231. This weekend the chain in my t case came apart and went through the side of the housing. I just bought another np231 out of a 2000 cherokee and I need to know if it will bolt right up to the older ax15. The trans is an 89 I believe and the t case is a 2000. Will it work?
