Default Aux transmission cooler

So I'm thinking of installing an auxiliary transmission cooler sometime in the next couple of weeks and was wondering if I should put it inline with the radiator cooler, or if I should just run it by itself and disconnecting from the radiator cooler altogether. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thats kinda what I figured. Also, Which type of cooler is more popular or cheaper, tube and fin, or bar and plate? I'm sure a bar and plate type cooler would be a little easier to fit in there.

Dont bypass the radiator the fluid needs to warm up some how when it flows through the radiator it helps the fluid warm up

Thats true. So I'm thinking if I keep the radiator cooler part of the system, I would want to run the aux cooler after the radiator cooler. Also, I live in phoenix arizona, so just sitting outside my trans is already at 100* lol

I used this one:

I ran it in after the radiator trans cooler.

Mounted mine on the drivers side. Made running the line easier.

You will want some airflow through the extra cooler, otherwise its way less effective.

So your choices are limited unless you mount a fan on the cooler.

They also have ones that you can mount down on the framerail near the trans but there more expensive. If you mount it inline with the radiator cooler you want to mount it after the radiator cooler before it goes into the tranny.

My uncle works at leibert and they make computer cooling systems. He saw what I was doing and brought me 4 like 3" x 3 " square fans and I put 12v dc to em and they fired up. Switch the wire and it switched their flo. Not sure what they were orig off of. Maybe a dc system. I diddnt want anything to get damaged, I had the radiator and cooler in the bed because the front took alot of abuse.

Yes, there is. But when wheeling that is sometimes not enough, esp since its right on the hot radiator.
