I put mine in on Friday & was surprised how qiute it was.It sounds like a tire rubbing a flare. Then later,it sounded terrible. Can't wait to go offroad with it.

also be carful in the rain especially around turns. Its alot different when both wheels are spinning around a corner as opposed to 1 wheel. When i first put mine in i heard it would let loose around a corner so i was at an empty street and i made a turn and matted it. The tires let loose and i was sideways haha i just counter steered and let off the gas but it made me alot more cautious

My Aussie makes the same ratcheting noise all the time. It does pop and bang some and after 2 years it still makes me cringe sometimes.
I put 75 140 full synthetic I'm right away because I heard it helps with noise. I can't hear the ratcheting with the windows up and it's really hardly noticeable outside.

I've heard a little extra oil and different types help with the noises. we definitely all get various noises and sometimes none at all. If it starts acting up and making too much noise just talk dirty to it. settles mine down every time.

so reading on another install, I am 80% sure I didn't re install the existing thrush washers, unless they stuck in there after I took out the stock spider gears.......
I am devastated.

I have Aussies front and rear. My 8.25 and my D30 make crazy sounds. The front makes some really crazy grinding sounds. But everything is all torqued to spec and I measured all the clearances they are all correct.

This was my facebook status today :
So I can confidently say the smell of gear oil has ZERO effect on me anymore, and I can install a locker in your jeep in 40 mins or less, most likely with one eye covered.
