$60 is a lot of money for what it does and keep in mind the stereo speakers were never meant to be used as a communication speaker. I tried one like it with my HF radios in another car a few years ago, I was not pleased with it for that but YMMV.

I am sure that you dont speak back into the installed speakers. You still have to use the microphone. This device just mutes the stereo when you receive a transmission on the CB. You still control volume of the audio with the CB radio. Im not sure if your are saying that the speakers are not intended to handle voice audio, but Im pretty sure they are.
I know that I want a device like this, I am just loking for feedback on the device its self. I am hoping that someone could tell me weather or not is it reliable equipment.

I'm an Amateur Radio Operator (A Ham) and for that type of sound car speakers leave a lot to be desired. I built a device that mutes the volume on the radio when a contact is made on the other radios I have 3 different radios installed and none of them hooked to the stereo speakers.
Here is what I use for a CB the Mic is fully self contained tuner, speaker, volume, squelch, etc. The 2x2" remote that the mic, antenna, 12v and an external spk. if desired is mounted on the firewall under the dash. The spk. in the mic is all that id requires in my XJ even with the windows down and the radio on I can hear it just fine. This Cobra CB is an excellent quality and works very well for a trail rig.
The speaker for the other radios is mounted is mounted behind the console on the hump pointing up. The main control units for those radios are mounted under the pass front seat on a tray and have remote heads shown.
