Default ATP header fail

11 months back I installed a new exhaust header, part 101212 from ATP Automotive Graywerks. Sad to say the weld between the two main collectors blew out. I mean literally the weld bead came off and went away. This left a slot big enough to drop a nickel down.

So I had to do the job all over again. Pulled it all back off. Welded up the slot and ran a nice weld bead up between the collectors and put it all back together again.

I hate to do stuff twice. But seems most all the parts out there are poor quality these days. Just replaced an alternator on my Dakota after about a year. Paid for the "lifetime" unit fortunately. So no cost second time around. Just the PITA of doing it again.

I thought I did that. Consensus on the forum was that item was the better way to go.

You never know what really comes in the box til it gets to you.

I have about two years on my apn, which I believe is the same as the atp, no cracks yet, but I'm expecting them.

Got any pictures of the manifold with the blown out weld? I would like to see that. Sounds like absolutely no penetration.
