Default anyone running 33x15.5s??

got a set of 33x15.5x15 Super Swampers from a buddy of a buddy i saw hangin out at the wal mart parking lot. he needed gas money for his 80 something rusted out ford. anyways... my jeep is currently stock, just finished cleaning up and collecting missing interior parts so that it all matches. now i wanna start making it more capable i plan to buy soft 8s for my jeep, cant beat 50 bucks a wheel... and i am getting at least a 3' inch lift, ideally 4.5" with option to upgrade to long arms later on.. but for the time being, anyone ever been in this situation and tried cramming 15.5" wide tires on their jeep? lol

Man that's gonna take a wwiiddee wheel with little to no backspacing! I'd almost sell them and buy narrower tires.

Thats a little wide man i would sell them and go 33 12.50s if u want big tires. Personally i think 31 10.50s are plenty big enuff for light to moderate wheeling. I think 15.50s would be tuff to pull off unless ur running some spacers or wider axles. I could be completely wrong but those seem silly wide for an xj

haha thats the same page i'm on.. silly wide. they'll fit a 15" rim and i do have a extra set of stock wheels, i seriously doubt it would work tho... but i was thinking it could be a MAYBE if i get enough backspacing out of a cheap set of wheels on the market.. cant help but be open minded about it

edit*

and yea 12.5"s is what i wanna end up with, or even 31x10.5 for now, it just depends on how the moneys gonna work out for me. im prowling criagslist for tires... but if i cant craigslist the soft 8s i have no problem with spending 200 bucks for 4 wheels lol

I've got 33x14x15s with a 4.5in lift. They rub the fenders bad when turning sharp. I think if I trimmed 1in off they'd be alright.

those wheels look 17" wide which make the tire balloon like that... but they are wide, and I don't know how they would fit under an xj, with my waggy front axle and 3.5" back spacing my 12.50's rub on full clock.

You are going to have some very unhappy unit bearings. Good luck with the build min. rim I would run is a 15x10 and even that seems thin. 3.75" of backspacing will run with that wide of a tire. So IMO sell them and get something more normal.
